Camping/ Recreational Lodging:
Within a day’s drive of Vance Air Force Base, you could visit historic Ft. Supply, Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge located at Jet, the Marland Mansion & Estate in Ponca City, the Watonga Cheese Factory in Watonga or an original Sod House in Aline, Oklahoma.

There are several state parks in Oklahoma that are within a day’s drive of Vance AFB. Equipment Rental:
Equipment Rental at Vance AFB offers a variety of items. There are an assortment
of boats available such as, 19’ Ski Boats, 18’ Pontoon Boats, and Bass fishing boats all of which come with the required safety equipment of life vests or PFD. Outdoor Recreation/Equipment Rental has anl Aliner popup trailers available for rent. Outdoor Recreation offers a multitude of equipment like tents, ice chests, sleeping bags, camping lanterns, camping cook stoves, golf clubs, mountain bikes, soccer balls, foot balls and basketballs. Also offered are banquet tables, stacking chairs, cots, and barbeque grills, both charcoal and propane. Equipment Rental offers lawn mowers, electric weed eaters and electric hedge trimmers. Additional garden equipment include a variety of shovels and rakes, a fertilizer spreader, wheelbarrow, post-hole digger and roto tiller.

FAMCAMP:
The closest FAMCAMP is located at Tinker Air Force Base (DSN 884-2847 or commercial (405) 734-2847) located approximately 100 miles southeast of Vance AFB.
Base Parks:
The Base Park is located on south Gott Road. Several areas are equipped with grills and tables for use by smaller groups. Outdoor Recreation, located at Building 244 Scott Road, also takes reservations for the enclosed and open pavilions that may be utilized 24 hours a day/7 days a week for squadron or larger private parties. Both pavilions have outdoor grills, electricity, water and restrooms.
Marina:
The closest marina is located on Lake Keystone near Tulsa.
Pools:
The Plains Pool is open Monday through Sunday from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, plus three weekend extensions depending on weather and lifeguard availability. Normal hours are 9
a.m. - 9 p.m. To maintain a high standard of pool operations, the pool will
be closed every other Wednesday morning for maintenance. The pool will be
open from 1 p.m. – 9 p.m. on those days. The pool is located on McAffrey Avenue. The phone number is (580) 213-7638. The pool offers swim lessons, water aerobics, lap swim and open swimming.
Vehicle Storage:
Vance AFB RV Storage Area is operated by the Outdoor Recreation Program thru Equipment Rental. The storage area is located next to the base park on Gott Road. There are spaces available for items 6 feet to 35 feet. After registering the item at Equipment Rental, Building 244 on Scott Road, a key may be signed out temporarily for patrons to use between
