Located in Universal City NE of San Antonio , Texas , Randolph Air Force Base has hosted flight training in the San Antonio area since 1930. For years, the San Antonio , Texas Randolph Air Force Base was even dubbed the " West Point of the Air." Although it no longer trains beginning pilots, Randolph Air Force Base continues its original mission by offering instructor pilot training as well as Joint Undergraduate Navigator and Electronic Warfare Officer Training. Randolph Air Force Base serves as the headquarters for the Air Force Education and Training Command, the Air Force Military Personnel Center and the Air Force Recruiting Service. Host unit of the San Antonio , Texas Randolph Air Force Base is the 12th Flying Training Wing, which makes its headquarters in Building 100, better known as the Taj Mahal. The 170-foot-tall Taj Mahal is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is also recognized as a Texas Historical Site landmark. In 2001, Randolph Air Force Base was itself designated a National Historic Landmark .

EQUIPMENT CHECKOUT: Equipment is available for various indoor and outdoor activities to include birthday parties, hiking, backpacking, camping, hunting, fishing, cycling, water sports, and lawn and garden sports. Items range from fishing rods and reels, boats, motors, utility trailers, camping gear, bedrolls, tents, lawn equipment and RV trailers.
The facility also provides one stop shopping for Eberle Park facility reservations, recreational vehicle storage and used car lots, season swimming pool passes and swimming lesson registration.

Equipment Reservation Policy:
Customers need to come into the facility to reserve equipment. Reservations can be made one week in advance with the exception of the Aerolite RV trailers and they can be reserved 30-days in advance. The daily rate for the trailer is $50.00 with a $50.00 deposit, which is refundable once the trailer is returned and inspected.

Eberle Park:
Eberle Park is an on-base three-acre park, which offers picnicking and outdoor leisure-time activities. The park is equipped with picnic tables, grills, play equipment for children, volleyball and basketball courts, horseshoes pits, two pavilions, an enclosed smoke/grill house, and a service house.
Schedule your reunion or parties with us. Choose from the grill house, two covered pavilions, or the serving house. Rent all facilities for $35, each pavilion for $20; grill house and serving house for only $10 each.

Reservation Policy: Reservations for pavilions are made through the Equipment Checkout Office and may be reserved in advance. Active duty military assigned to Randolph AFB are authorized to make reservations for the facilities at Eberle Park 6 months in advance all other eligible personnel 30 days in advance. Reservations must be made in person. If a squadron wants to use the park for a squadron official function they may reserve the park one year in advance and receive a Sport Package.
Randolph Recreation Park at Canyon Lake
Canyon Lake Recreation Park is a 141-acre park located only 45-minutes north of Randolph in the Jacobs Creek Park area of the Canyon Lake Reservoir. Year-round activities include 50 picnic sites, 75 camping areas, 9 Recreational Vehicle parking areas with electricity and water hook-ups, boat ramp, party pavilion, nature trail, beach, 3 playgrounds, 9 shelters and 6 cabins.

Marina:
The marina supports a wide variety of water activities with a fishing pier, boat rentals that include pontoon boats, ski, and fishing boats. The marina boasts 72 wet and 75 dry slips. The Sales Shop stocks bait, oil, fuel, camping, and boating resale items.

BOAT RENTAL POLICY:
• Boat fees do not include gas.
• No rental 2 hours before closing.
• All boats due back 1 hour before closing.
• Boats identified with * above require a boater’s safety course. Course offered 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the office.
• Fishing is only authorized on a designated boat for fishing, i.e., Fish & Ski, Bass and 16’ Fishing boats
• Renter must have a valid DoD ID Card (Active Duty, Active Reserves, Dependents (age 18 and up), DoD Civilian
• Unreserved boats will be rented on a first-come, first-serve basis.
• Limited boats may be reserved 30 days in advance and require a $25 deposit. Deposit is non-refundable if cancelled less than 24-hour advance notice. Boat must be rented for a minimum of 4 hours.
• Reservation will be held for 15 minutes after designated start time. Reserved boats not rented will be forfeited to first-come, first-serve and will forfeit $25 deposit.
• Driver must not consume alcohol during rental.
Swimming Pools:
Two seasonally operated swimming pools are conveniently located throughout the installation. Program includes open swimming, lap swimming, instructional classes, water aerobics, scuba certifications, youth day camp swimming, youth swim team, lifeguard certifications, community water safety courses, and ‘wet ditch’ training for pilots and navigators.

Pool Passes: Season pool passes are available for purchase at Information, Tickets and Travel, Bldg. 897 at the beginning of the season. Family season passes are limited to immediate family members i.e., sponsor and dependents. Daily swimming fee and seasonal pool passes are required for recreational swimming and for reduced swim lesson fees. TDY personnel assigned to Randolph AFB for less than 30 days have free-swimming privileges with TDY orders. TDY personnel assigned to Randolph for more than 30 days have the same swimming privileges as permanently assigned personnel. Home base season passes are honored. Aerobic Classes:
Beginning June 8, aerobic classes will be held Monday and Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. at the Center Pool. Classes are free. For more information contact the Fitness Center at 652-5316 or check out the 2009 POOL BROCHURE
Skeet Range:
Registered skeet shoots are held every Tuesday of each month. Practice shooting on Wed, Saturday and Sunday. Three day registered shoots are held periodically. Gun rentals are available.
The Skeet and Trap Range hosts monthly National Skeet Shooting Association (NSSA) and Texas Skeet Shooting Association (TSSA) registered shoots. The facility consists of two skeet ranges and one trap range.

RV Storage:
RV Storage Lot provides 163 spaces in a secured area with 24-hour access located on perimeter road, adjacent to the Hunt and Saddle Club. Lot offers spaces in a secure, lighted RV storage area, with 24-hour access. Fees are $25.00 per month or $250 per year. Customers can make payment on monthly and yearly basis.
Storage Policy:
Insurance and registration is also required for the RV lot. When the lot is filled a waiting list is maintained with 3 priorities - 1st - active duty on Randolph , 2nd - active duty other bases and 3rd priority is retirees, reservists and DoD civilian.
POV Resale Lot:
POV Resale Lot is
conveniently located on base and is providing a low cost service for customers
to sell their privately owned vehicles. Anyone who wishes to place a
vehicle/boat or RV on the used car lot can sign up with proof of insurance and title or registration. They also have to fill out a permit, which is to be placed in the window of the vehicle. This permit is only good for 2 weeks. The permit can be renewed if there isn't a waiting list. If there is a waiting list, their name is added to the list. Prices are for a 2-week period. For vehicles the cost is $10.00 and for motor homes and RVs over 20 feet long, the cost is $20.00.
Bargin Warehouse:
Bargain Warehouse provides a much-needed outlet to sell non-appropriated fund equipment for a nominal fee to authorized patrons. Open the 2 nd Wednesday of each month.
